That’s perfect.
Wow, perfect.
These are few expressions you use to express when you see something good.
Which is fine.
When you hear this you might wonder…
Is there anything called ‘pitch perfect’, ‘picture perfect’ or in more simpler terms ‘perfect’.
Although these are some words to express the beauty or something good or something marvellous. You use them relatively.
In reality, there is no such thing called ‘Perfect’.
Let me share with you my little experience.
I have always yearned for the perfect situation, perfect room, perfect light, perfect weather and the list goes on and on.
Then the things I had planned and the goals I had to achieve was never realized. Days became weeks, weeks become months, months became years.
After many years I realized, there is no such thing as ‘Perfect’.
We have to make the most of whatever the present situation has.
One of the things out of many was to start writing. I waited for far too long.
I was actually waiting for some magical moment. Then I started to research about the writers and achievers and was surprised to know that I was not waiting for things to be ‘ pitch perfect’.
I was actually
- Scared to put that first step
- Terrified with the idea of failing
- Thinking what if somebody critically commented on my piece of writing
Etc., etc.,
So I had all these qualities of a super ‘Perfectionist’.
This kind of hindered the growth.
Eventually, I overcome that mental block and here I am expressing myself through broken words, messed up sentences and few not so good phrases.
The best thing that has happened is I have started writing and putting that work irrespective how critically people will comment. I am doing it now.
Now coming to the perfect place where I have begun writing, perhaps it was always there.
I changed nothing aside from my mindset.
It is always ‘You’ who is in your way of doing and achieving something in life.
Perhaps it is only your state of mind and not the physical brick and mortar places that will help you to get started with anything.
Today, I have created a space which is not perfect (at least from my perception) for the reading and writing work I do.
But I am happy, irrespective of it being imperfect, I put the quality work and most of my hours are productive now.
I know because of this looking for perfectionism, I have started late but now I am pacing up. Once I embrace the new change I will run with lightning speed.
The best part is the journey has begun and I am determined enough to make it work.
Even for you the idea should not be to make things ‘perfect’.
It should be to get started and put that first step and first word.
Fail fast, learn fast and stand up and move on is the only formula to make something big and perfect in life.
Today, I look forward to making my day pitch perfect out of many imperfections, distractions, noise and chaos.
I have developed many systems and processes that work for me and help me utilize my time with increased productivity.
Let’s talk and strive towards first making a perfect day which will help us to make a perfect world 🙂
